Chris Ross has been with Vodacom for more than 23 years and served on the Vodacom Group EXCO during this period, as a Director Sales, Products and Services as well as on the Board of a number of Vodacom subsidiaries including Vodacom Ventures, Vodacom Mozambique, Vodacom Lesotho, Vodacom Tanzania, Stortech and others. During this time, he conceptualised and launched the Vodacom Store franchise initially known as Vodashop as well as numerous products and services to establish Vodacom as the premium brand in the South African market. Before joining Vodacom Chris was in sales and marketing in the Consumer Electronics and Communication Field since 1981. Chris considers himself to be an Applied Technologist who looks at the benefit and application of technology to enhancing our lives rather than just technology for technology’s sake.
Siya is the Chief Executive Officer of African Phoenix Investments Limited, a JSE listed investment holding company (Phoenix). Prior to joining Phoenix, Siya was a Partner at Medu Capital where he was responsible for strategic development, investment execution and management and was a board member and treasurer of the Southern African Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (SAVCA).
Ernest is a co-founder and Director of Medu Capital, and is responsible for the strategic development of Medu Capital and investment execution and management.
He has 23 years experience in auditing and investment management. After qualifying with Deloitte & Touche, Ernest was appointed as audit manager at Deloitte’s entrepreneurial services division. He later joined Anglo American as a research analyst in their investment and treasury department before being promoted to Portfolio Manager and later Divisional Investment Manager responsible for Anglo American’s pension fund portfolio. Ernest joined RMB Asset Management where he gained invaluable experience in strategic marketing and managing public sector portfolios. He was appointed as a director of RMB Asset Management responsible for transformation and investment management.
After qualifying as a chartered accountant, Marais was appointed as a manager in the audit and management consulting departments at KPMG. Subsequently, he managed and founded an auditing and corporate advisory firm serving the needs of various major corporations and parastatals. He has served on the boards of various listed mining companies.
Godlief is an associate of Medu Capital and is responsible for investment execution and management.
Godlief has 13 years’ experience in auditing, corporate finance and private equity to his credit. After qualifying with Ernst & Young, Godlief joined the corporate finance division of Investec Bank where he gained experience in all aspects of corporate finance, including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, JSE listings and BEE transactions.
